The ideal course for those who want to gain confidence in handling a sailing yacht and further develop their skills. Improve your knowledge of manoeuvring, sail trim, navigation, and safety procedures at sea through practical training.

Racing Sailing Course

Put your sailing skills to the test with this exciting course and experience the thrill of competitive sailing. Learn advanced racing techniques, teamwork, tactics, and boat handling, then apply your knowledge by taking part in a real sailing regatta.

COURSE DETAILS

Upon completion of the course, you will gain knowledge and practical skills in the following areas:

Yacht Construction and Systems

  • Understanding the main parts of a sailing yacht
  • Operating basic onboard systems
  • Refilling water and fuel tanks
  • Using and maintaining the yacht’s engine

Rope Handling and Mooring

  • Working with ropes of different diameters
  • Tying essential sailing knots
  • Handling mooring lines
  • Understanding different mooring techniques

Sail Handling

  • Hoisting, lowering, and reefing sails
  • Handling sheets and halyards

Fender Handling

  • Correctly securing and positioning fenders
  • Using fenders effectively during manoeuvres

Anchoring

  • Preparing and deploying the anchor
  • Operating the anchor windlass
  • Managing and controlling the anchor chain

Dinghy Handling

  • Independently operating a dinghy

Safety Skills

  • Moving safely around the yacht and using safety equipment
  • Using distress signalling devices, including flares, mirrors, and flags
